Bad design

As a bad design here I present to you: THE MAGIC SUPER GLUE PEN.

Here is my chance to blow my mind on to a bad design. There is no background, this little glue pen was in a utensils shop with no brand, just a simple package with a cheap price which I though was my savior for my model flaws & limited pocket.

This glue pen first of all has a main problem; it is aimed to a market that is not meant to have it. The product has playful & naïve colors such as a yellow clownish & vibrant image referring to its magic properties. It refers to itself in a childish way so to suppose we will give our kid the “magic super glue pen”. WRONG! It is toxic, its dangerous for the connecting of fragile parts in children such as eye brows, finger tips etc. Just to make it a bit ironic they chose to write it down as well….

Let’s get to other issues, the pen has no opening, it has a hard tip that is nearly impossible to open & when it’s finally open the hole is way too small for the main product (the glue) to come out. Having a small hole this one gets even worse when the super glue dries & then there is no way to use the glue pen again only if you cut it again & repeat the disastrous process.

Now when you have given up & just adjust yourself to cut the tube every type to paste comes along a bigger challenge… The glue pen has a mechanism of squeezing an internal tube that has the super glue so this one comes out through the tube. The way how you squeeze the internal tube is by pressing two paddles on each side of the glue pen. These paddles happen to have sharp lines that perforates the tube causing leakage that lets the super glue come onto your hands & if this is not enough…
The whole tube of super glue dries out in maybe five minutes leaving you with red blistered fingers, a model half done & a rigid hard tube with dry super glue in it!

Honestly this has been the worse investment I’ve ever made in my modeling experience & deserves a 0/10 mark.
